We’re Proud of Our Results
Supporting Wage Subsidies
We have scaled our capacity and we are delivering almost $40 million in subsidies to placements across the country this year, bringing total federal subsidies released through our program oversight to over $150 million in the last 5 years.
Long-Term Job Creation
Based on our collected data, most (71%) Green Jobs interns from the last 3 funding cycles have extended their contract with the same employers. Also, a smaller (15%) proportion of participants have found work with other organizations or returned to school for advanced studies. This results in a long-term benefit for the recent graduate, the employer, the wage subsidy program, and the Canadian environmental sector.
Satisfied Participants
In past years, 99% of participants indicated they were satisfied with their internship experience. Of those placements that have concluded so far in this current funding cycle, 99% of Green Job interns have responded they were satisfied with their experience in the program.
Supporting a Diverse Workforce
Across all of our employment programs for the 2021-2022 funding cycle, 52% of participants were female and 28% identified as a visible minority.
